Reasons for fear

First of all one should know that phobia is a disease and just like any other disease it has its causative agents and the reasons it appears as a results in of which. Though, one should remember that any phobia is a strictly psychological disease and has nothing to do with the physical health of a person. No matter on the fact that there are physical symptoms of a phobia the phobia is not a physical weakness of a person as those physical symptoms are developed only with the touch of a disease.
As phobias are psychological diseases the causative agents of those are also of strictly psychological nature and may be found only in subconsciousness of a person. So, let's think about the reasons that are able to results in person's suffering form one or another form of phobia. As you know, phobias may be of three different kinds: fears for situations, organisms and objects.
Fears for situations usually appear in mind of those people, who suffers from the self-doubt. Those are people, who consider themselves not good enough, not smart enough, not strong enough, not dexterous and adroit enough, in two words those, who are always afraid of the failure. Such people are afraid of crossing streets, as they think that they will choose the wrong moment and will get into accident, they are afraid of speaking in public, as they think that they will be uninteresting for listeners and they will walk away. So, phobias of this kind may be results of low self-esteem or the situations that happened in the past. Say, one had negative experience of speaking in public; in this case he may receive the life-long fear of speaking in public.
The second kind of phobias is the fear for organisms. Under the word "organisms" one should realize any living creature that exists on the earth and in the water. It's a rather peculiar kind of phobias and the most dangerous one, as living creatures are all around us and there is no place where one can hide. Say, if one suffers with phobias for situations he is able to avoid those situations, but there is no way for a person to avoid the object of its fear in case if he suffers with cleptophobia – the fear for thieves. Any person, such people see, seems like thief to them, a thief, who wants to rob them.
As the reasons for fear for organisms may also be the events of the past or stories a person hears during the life about one or another creature. Say, mom says to her little boy that he shouldn't stroke a dog as she is afraid that he may catch some kind of disease. Though, mom can't tell him the real reason why he shouldn't do that, she thinks it is better to frighten him and so she says that all dogs are aggressive and will bite him. Child's psychic is rather receptive for vivid images his imagination draw under influence of mom's word, and so the fear for dogs appears. Times will pass but that fear stored deep inside of the person's subconsciousness will go nowhere and as time laps will turn into phobia for dogs.
